Hi guys, i'm new to this forum so be gentle if i'm posting in the wrong place. I have a 2011 1.6 hdi citroen berlingo multispace, this is my 2nd berlingo great cars. Anyway what it is is i have the ABS light coming on, when it's on i seem to have more power from the engine. I have been to a local garage who gave me 3 fault codes FCOO ( or maybe FC00 ) FCFC and OOFC ( or maybe 00FC ) any help here guys? can't seem to find anything by googling

Hi,
Those codes are from universal code reader.
Without make/model of that reader it is difficult to find out what they mean.
For ABS problems it is best to have Lexia codes.
Find garage with Lexia and post those error codes.
Best regards,
brajomobil

No idea what reader they used as my local garage took the car to a 2nd garage for the codes, it's very frustrating when the abs light comes on it's as if the car has more power if that points anyone in the right direction? if i switch the engine off fow 10 seconds it has gone off but will return, sometimes within a mile sometimes a lot further

I hope they didn’t charge you for pointless codes if they didn’t even know what they are?
Get it on any decent scanner, doesn’t need to be Lexia (or Peugeot planet will also work) my Delphi will work 100% and give intelligent fault codes with actual explanations

ABS light might come on for several reasons, you should read the codes with a proper lexia/diagbox or PUG/Citroen dealer code reader to be able to get to the source of the error/fault.
One of them may be a fault in one of the sensors that reads the speed of each of the wheels, as this is a pretty common fault that we get to see these days from cars the age of yours. In this case, when the ABS light is on, ABS is off, and so is ESP (is the light also on? It should be...).
This seems to me, to be the only explanation for your sensation of "extra power" the car produces while the light is on. You have no ESP, so when you floor it, the wheels will spin on the asphalt, giving you the sensation of more power because the ESP does not kick in to decrease the acceleration of the engine, to stop the spinning.
In cars the age of yours (like mine), the copper from the cables of the cable loom to the sensors can get quite oxidised and brittle, and break in points where cable binders attach it to the car body. This was the latest fix I had going on this last summer. In your case the fault is still intermitent, which means you have a non completely broken cable, but on its way there, or it may also be a problem with one ofthe sensors or corresponding magnetic rings, that generate the signal to the speed sensors...

You won’t have esp as far as I know, and the extra power will be placebo! There is no way the abs can effect the map of the vehicle

Somebody said it could be the EGR valve, but wasn't sure how it couldconnect to the ABS, unless they use the same light

I have seen this somewhere too something about it anyway but im sure that vehicle had a wiring fault?
But if you are confident you do get more power and not a placebo as dumdum says (i can understand his opinion being a retired mechanic) then it would point at the egr. But without a proper diag to be honest you are just guessing and that is a unwise and expensive thing to do with a modern vehicle.
