Hi, this is my first post. I have a 2008 1.6 hdi 166k.
Had it a couple of months and it's been ok and very nippy! Recently the power seems to have gone, there's no oomph in it anymore. Before I used to put accelerator down and it was very perky, now very little happens.
Any common probs that can cause this, feels like something blocking it from going!
Thanks

It could be that your MAF has failed, but I'd expect the EML & 'Anti Pollution Fault' to be displayed. It's quite easy to disconnect the MAF and see if it makes a difference but it's probably best to get an OBD code reader, they're cheap enough on flebay.

yes a bluetooth obd is very useful for diagnosis, you can check if the turbo is boosting too

So if I disconnect the MAF and it's exactly the same will that point to the fault or should it run better?
Think I have a Bluetooth OBD reader, will that test the turbo?
Thanks

A standard unmodified 1.6 HDI 16v should make a bar of boost I think, according to the OBD thingy I've used. Does your speedo work correctly by the way?

Hi, ive disconnected the airflow sensor and tbh it does run slightly better at low revs but still missing the acceleration when I floor the accelerator, like it did before.
For some reason the bluetooth OBD tool I have wont connect to the ECU but it works fine in my Focus.
Any ideas ?

mine,s a black xtrons one, £6 on ebay
and my boost often registers 1.25 bar (depending what gear or rpm) but then settles at about .9bar
