Roundbouts and swings ...... I'd leave the engine in place ... I've done both jobs in the past.

edit : Time - lazy diy for a clutch took me a Saturday 09:00 to 16:00 and 10:00 to 12:30 hrs on Sunday, as I say very lazy but then I am retired and under no pressure of time.
Timing belt usually takes me four hours on the same basis as above  Heart

I've plenty of time as this is a project car,

Did you use a manual for information on the clutch change,
or another source...

I've just got a full clutch kit on eBay for £19... Big Grin

I used the Haynes manual as a reference for both of these jobs.

Even if you are experienced it is always worth a quick read before doing a job for the first time on a new / different vehicle as indvertent error on valve timing can prove rather expensive.

There is a Haynes Manual for free download on this site, have a search.

Whilst at it replace the aux belt they only have a short service interval premature failure can take out the entire engine if unlucky.

Have fun it isn't a tough job.
