Battery change start/stop?

I nead to change batteri on my 2013 Partner whit 1.6 HDi and start/stop! 
What do I nead to think about?
1. I Know it its still power on the + conektion and its nead to be isolatet
2. Does it nead a 12v feading then th batteri is diskonekted?
3. Does it nead a update of the computer after change so the start/stop Will be aktivares agin?

This is my first Car whit computer and start/stop.

Welcome Aixam to the forum. Had to look up your location on Google Maps. Looks like lovely country. I've been up to Göteborg a couple of time on business which looks to be a bit north of you. I have no experience changing a battery on a start/stop but off the top of my head I can't think of any reason why it should be different from a non-start/stop, aside from a different battery spec.

Replacing a stop start battery is no different to changing any battery. You will need to do a bsi reset just like any Citroen or Peugeot just google 'bsi reset'

I was contemplating swapping my battery as the stop/start has stopped working. I have since charged the battery and all is OK now. Seems battery needs to be more than 70% of fully charged for ECO to work. My friend who works for Peugeot (same van) tells me there should be no problem swapping battery although you may have to reset the BSI

May be it's a little off topic. Could you tell us what is wrong with your battery after 5 years? My car is from 2016.

  It should be the AGM type (Absorbent Glass Mat) and after the producer leaflets they should last longer then conventional lead batteries.

The only difference with the battery in a stop start system is it's more heavy duty.

Stop start systems are a lot more intelligent than most people give them credit for.
They monitor the battery level as well as the engine temperature and the loads on the engine. Many with climate control monitor the cabin temperature too. I think some are even linked to the engine management system in a way that if there is a fault code for the engine, it isolates the stop start.

Basically it's about not leaving you stranded at a junction with and engine that wont start. If the cabin is too hot/cold compared to the outside temperature it'll leave the engine running to prevent you boiling/freezing in the cabin. They also decide whether stopping the engine would use more fuel than it saves, ie. if the engine is still cold, then it'll need more fuel to restart it than if it's warm. The system realises that it needs to allow the engine time to reach full operating temperature to become efficient before switching it off for brief periods, other wise it'll never get warm and use more fuel than needed.

You’d be surprised. AGM batteries are good for 3-4 years. Cold weather can play havoc with them and can kill them dead overnight.

My AGM needed replacing after 2 years but has been replaced with one that gives a three year guarantee which I won’t benefit from.

I’ve just replaced a lead acid battery in my boat that is rated at 240a/h with a 1100cca rating. Five year guarantee - its only replacing one that is twelve years old and down to 63% performance.

My two year old Berlingo Blue HDI120 S&S Shine ( 08/2016, KYANOS Blue Metallic ) does not have such an intelligent behaviour. It's more the handicap variant. Even when I start the car, which was standing over night outside, in the morning the Start &Stop mechanism will stop at the next traffic light which is just 400 m from my home. It last typically around 10 ... 12 minutes / 8 ... 12 km until it reaches the normal cooling water temperature. But in between the Start &Stop mechanism is always active. So if I don't forget I switch off the S&S in the beginning manually.

In an other car, A-Class W169 180 CDI, which is from 2007 I have still the original Varta battery after 260.000 km. But this Varta 74 Ah, 000 982 31 08 , is the more conventionally type of lead acid battery. These days it's the Varta Blue Dynamic.
