My clutch squeaks whenever I step on the pedal. It's fine when in gear and going and makes a slight noise when in neutral.
I am on holiday on a Scottish island until the week end and the local garage say they can't fix it in time. They say it's the thrust bearing.
Any idea how long it will survive? I have to last until the weekend and then drive back to London.

I would drive it and risk it getting me home it could last for months with the squeak.
The thrust bearing isn't in play when you aren't using the clutch so once in gear and driving there's no stress on it.
Not saying you don't already but try to drive with sympathy towards the bearing, don't sit at busy junctions, traffic lights, etc, with the clutch pressed.

Ok, thanks. That's what I thought I'd do. Nice to have confirmation.
