non starting
#1
Hi, got a puzzling fault on my 2004  2.0hdi. It will turn over well but will not start. The code reader says 'P0336 crankshaft position sensor'  . The battery is fully charged. When turning over the Rev counter works. It is an intermittent fault, so when it does start, the rev counter is working. When I press the throttle, it stalls, the rev counter freezes in the position it is in, then after about 5 seconds it goes to zero. I have replaced the crankshaft position sensor twice with new ones. The fault still persists. Any ideas?

I seem to remember some posts a while ago about the crankshaft pulley being out of alignment, causing starting problems.
