Grumpy gearbox

Hi all. the first fault has reared its ugly head. Nothing too major thankfully but it looks like i am looking at a gearbox replacement due to severe noise in the diff. Will any 1.9 diesel box do the job??ie citroen xzara,306,etc
Also will i raise the gearing by fitting a 306/xzara box???
Did the 1.9 gearbox change at all between mk1 and 2???

No. Different gear ratios.

So basicly yes i can fit a xzara/306 diesel box or a mk 1 or2 berlingo box then with no issues?????
