Berlingo sudden lurching and jumping.
#1
My berlingo is acting up in a strange way.
Bit hard to explain but it will suddenly stop and start when driving. Like within a split second.
It was doing it once of twice but now it's doing it all the time. It's as if the engine is stopping and starting a few times in a mater of seconds.

Changed to fuel filter and cleaned out the erg valve, but no good.

Any idea what it could be.
Going to check the fuel shut of valve next

For got to mention. When it dose this it jolts me forward from the van suddenly slowing down. Then takes of again and dose it again. I can hear the engine jumping up and down on the mounts as it dose this.

Dodgy fuel pump would probably do that too. Either the high pressure pump or the lift pump in the tank. Sounds more like the electric lift pump losing power.

Have you check to see if there are any fault codes stored?

No I haven't checked for fault codes. I have suspicion that some of the dash warning lights have been removed or covered. As I can hear the warning beep when this happens bit lights have come on yet

What engine does your van have? I think a code reader would help, maybe you can ask someone to check the codes for you, but getting a reader for yourself would be better.

No codes are showing. Thinking it might be the fuel shutoff solenoid starting to fail.
Anyone know where the fuel shut of solenoid is located on a 1.6 berlingo 07

it shuts the injector signal rather than the pump deano, and any fuel pressure issue should flag a code, mine did,nt flag a code when #4 injector connector worked loose tho

I had this issue with 99 RAV4, eventually the timing belt snapped. Maybe check it's all up to tension?

Try disconnecting your MAF sensor and run it round the block, it doesn't seem to show a code when it goes wrong and it causes similar symptoms.
So where does this bit go then ?
