Driver's window not working
#1
My driver's side window decided to stop working, am not exactly sure when but it was fine the last time I used it a few days ago. Pressing the button has no effect at all, the passenger side is still ok. Has anyone seen this problem before, maybe there's a fuse just for that side.

Any thoughts welcome.

Thanks

Cant remember how they are fused so you need to check all fuses.

The wiring can break in the conduit from the a post to the door so check for power at the motor.

My enigmatic or is that enigmatique window started working again last night. I can now hear a relay in the BSI clicking when I press the button which I couldn't hear in the morning. It was a bit cold when I set off, so maybe there was some ice stopping the window. Maybe it thawed out during the day, but I resisted the temptation to try it on the M62 just in case it only worked one way. In the evening I tried it so that I could pay for diesel at ASDA without getting out of the car.

Yesterday evening the window went down when I paid for fuel at ASDA, then declined to go up again a couple of minutes later. I turned the ignition off, then turned the key back to 'aux' & the window went back up when I pressed the switch. After that I started the engine and drove off, while driving I tried the up switch a few times and could hear the relay in the BSI clicking which I couldn't hear before, so I'm guessing there's a dry or loose joint somewhere?
I'll take a look at the wiring diagram today but thought I'd ask if there are any thoughts?
Thanks

A quick update and a request for some help.

Both windows are now working 100% fine....
I've attached 2 files showing the wiring for the windows, they are quite different from the looks of things. Both are AFAIK for the M59 but the version (2) is for a later RPO, mine as it happens.

Please can anyone try the window 'up' switches while the windows are closed and let me know what year your car is & if there's a relay 'click' from the region of the BSI? Mine only clicks when I try the driver's window.
It may be because the drivers side has the 'one touch' feature although that only works going down.

TIA

Just went out to try this as feel I owe you a few favours for your help on this forum. However, had forgotten that my poverty spec car has manual winders! D'oh!

Oops! For the amount of times that I open & close my windows, a couple of manual winders might have been a better option.

Mine makes the same click from the BSI on the driver's window.

I believe the one touch feature only works when the window is going down.
