Hi. after driving home with headlights on, sometimes not every time, i turn off lights and then turn off engine. as i get out of van the headlights come on and stay on for approx 1 minute or so.
is this a courtesy feature? or is this the impeccable french electrics developing some character?
can i turn it off if its a feature?
is this a known electrical fault or the start of something much bigger? hahahahaha
cheers
Rob

On the M49 I would probably say it's a gremlin
Check your light switch for play or loose connections would be my first option.
So where does this bit go then ?

I think there's a feature on some models to do what you've described. IIRC you activate it by pulling or pushing one of the steering wheel stalks. I've not tried it myself so am only thinking out loud from a distant memory. Maybe the infamous BSI reset would help, plenty of details via a search.

I remember reading in the B9 literature about a feature that I believe was/is called "follow me home" or some such wording. I've never seen it but that sounds like what it might be. But as ffrenchie says, on an M49 it is probably a bug.

i think its actually a 'courtesy light' feature now. if i turn lights off after the ignition they stay on for a minute(ish), if i turn them off before the ignition they stay off.
bashing the dashboard to get the fuel gauge working and R/H dash speaker is clearly another matter.....?
