Hi,
my name is Gary, I'm from West Yorkshire - up in the Pennines where it rains a lot.
I now have a house in Jaen, Spain where the sun shines a lot!
I bought Belen, (no, there aren't any letters missing - it's a popular girl's name here, taken from the reg. plate letters.)
the Berlingo to get around in and be very practical, which she is doing admirably.
I love the fact that it's a van - can fill it with building materials, but also put the back seats up to carry passengers in comfort with loads of headroom, legroom and storage space.
Year 2001 Multispace, 340,000k on the clock, lots of dents and scrapes; rattles, wheezes & vibrates, but she's got the early 2.0l HDi engine which I love, so intending to apply some TLC to rejuvenate her.
Aircon not working, fan speed control works backwards, central locking disabled due to red light on dash, sometimes no engagement on the starter motor (could be missing some teeth on the flywheel!!), engine management light won't extinguish, but she starts & runs well enough to get me to Granada & back, so I'm going to do running repairs to get her singing again instead of buying a later computer on wheels - high pressure injection is about as much tech as I can handle.
Call me a Luddite, but I don't like having a computer telling me what to do when I'm the one who is supposed to be driving the damn thing!
There are hundreds of them in the scrapyards around here as the spanish all rush to buy brand new 4x4's and SUV's out in the campo, or posh saloons for the city & town folk.
I've had loads of citroens in the past (mostly hydropneumatic), but owning a citroen is always a learning curve, so that's why I'm here - hopefully i'll be able to contribute as well before too long, electrics is my speciality!
