[Engine] Air intake pipe losen
#1
I open this thread due to a simple repair witch i hope that helps you.
On my partner 1.6hdi the air pipe was always losen i put tape and bracelet how ever i did another solution.
So i drill two holes, one on each edge of the 1st section pipe and then i hold with thread plastic rivets it was a better solution as you can see in the pictures.
I thougt in put normal metalic rivets but i was afraid of damaging the pipe.

Step by step:
1-take out the pipe;
2- use drill bit n 4 until n6 iuse the rivets with 6mm;

3- install the pipe

I hope that it helps you bevause i already get a lot of from this forum

I thank you for your post & help, but your pictures are that poor it's hard to see what you have actually done.

That's much better, we can see clearly what you have done.

The air pipes on these vehicles are rather poor and they fall apart, I sure other forum members will use your idea.

Thank you.

Looks like a good fix. Where did you get the rivets from?

So rivets are suit for trim doors and you can see on the link it´s like nº9, is a screew rivet you push to get in and to get out you have to unscrew it.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/100x-Trunk-Scre...:1&vxp=mtr

I by in local store it´s for mini/bmw, the diameter is 6mm. If you use 8mm also it will work....

The pink hammer is from the "girl who walks at home", my wife Smile is very useful.
