I had a day off today so checked ALL pipes / connections , took inlet manifold off re-checked all bleed of pipes , drained filter bowl removed oval top which was easier than I remember bearing in mind this is a new purflux housing which came with lid /filter and top fitting clip , in the past some effort was needed to gently prise cap off but this just lifted off , also it was fully seated , having inspected the seal/o ring it is blue in colour not black as original , and a much looser fit it appears , not wanting to use the old seal I removed it from its groove in lid and applied a very fine smear of britlube chem-tec white grease(harmless to most plastics and rubber) into groove and wiped over seal , this made the lid a more satisfying push fit !.
I had intended to replace clear feed pipe to filter housing also but it would be very difficult as filter housing inlet has a large bore push fitting coming from a rigid plastic pipe clipped to cambelt cover of a much smaller bore.
I have uncoupled all push fittings and smeared a tiny amount of grease to male and female ends also .
The plastic flow and return pipes clipped to cambelt cover run down bulkhead and are connected shrunk onto each other via inserts both bone dry, to full length plastic pipes which go up side of tank into top and down low inside I would guess , all looks good .
Re filled filter until diesel spurts out of bleed off spout refit hose , 7-pushes to it firms up a little , fired up fairly easily and has driven well all day , so will have to see what she fires up like in the morning now, more waiting!!!!!
