Hi all,
I was thinking of cleaning the intercooler of my 1.6HDi (M59; 2007; no FAP/DPF; 1.6HDi) as maintenance, probably with acetone.
Is it as simple as remove the doser pipes, unscrew the top bolt, tilt backwards and slide out (upward) or is there something more complex going on? I cannot quite see if there are more bolts underneath.
Any help will be appreciated.

I think it's quite straightforward, more or less as you've described. The radiator is a bit more difficult due to the mounting brackets. TBH, I can't remember exactly but I also don't remember any problems.
I think I may have a leak on my power steering pump so would be good to know if it's as simple as I recall to remove the intercooler.

Many thanks for the heads up, I will report back if there were any problems.

I think I had the same leak on the power steering pump. I think the cap on the power steering reservoir is on top of the pump and from the shaking was leaking on the pump. Somehow it was not sealing correctly. I put a neoprene washer inside and that stopped it. The steering reservoir itself was oily on the sides.

I checked the intercooler mounting today while I was checking the mystery oil leak. Unless you have aircon, it should come out after removing the single nut at the top and the hoses. Mine has aircon & it looks like the radiator will have to be removed first so that the intercooler can slide sideways as the aircon pipes are in the way.
I still have no idea where the oil is coming from, I thought it was power steering oil, but now wonder if it's engine oil from the top of the dipstick tube. It's not a massive amount, but it does make a mess.

I removed and cleaned it. I thought that it can come upwards and sideways, but the doser pipe was in the way. I slid it underneath and it was ok, more than enough space to take it out, even without raising the car. The biggest problem was that my car is a Peugeot Partner Escapade and has a metal undertray. Removing it was OK, but putting it back together was a Sisyphean struggle. They have used some weird clips with thread on it to put the bolts from underneath, but they moved slightly when I was removing the undertray. Almost no space to put your hands inside the bonnet grill.
For the leak, check the doser pipes, there is some sort of a common leak with Citroen/Peugeot. Feel under the doser and see if it is coming from there.
