Oil leak - head gasket?

Hi,

I've got a 2001 Berlingo Multispace with the DW8B engine, which I've had from new.

It's got an oil leak down the back of the engine. It appears to be from the head gasket, in that the actual cylinder head above the gasket is clean and shiny, whereas everywhere below that has oil on it.

Is this a known problem with these engines? There are none of the usual symptoms of oil getting into the coolant, or coolant getting into the oil. 

It's done 190,000 miles, and used for a daily motorway commute.

Did mine,
with a coat on each surface allowed to part dry ..

Then put back together.. cost ..£5 for a tube..

Head gasket may be blown or a warped head...?

It’s usually the rocker cover. Easy job compared to some, but I’d go for the silicone gasket stuff too.
That grey stuff from Halfrauds is good n comes off easy if you need to take rocker cover off in future. Don’t use the black stuff they sell, you’ll never get it apart again without a hammer !
Clean both surfaces with thinners or meths then put a decent amount on and place the cover on it and press lightly. Leave it for a while to go off then screw it down. If you wait 30 minutes you can peel the excess off n make it look less like a bodge
