Feedback from forum, anyone used LUKOIL
#1
Hi All

Just reaching out to get some feedback from the forum members if anyone has used LUKOIL they are supposed to be 1st/2nd oil company in Eastern EU

I use National Tyres for my oil Change (Peugeot Partner TePee 1.6 no DPF) they used to use Fuchs and now they have switched to LUKOIL ( GENESIS SPECIAL C2 5W-30 ) which MEETS PSA B71 2290 but appears not APPROVED

there is a post from last year highlighting this but checking for latest feedback in view of passage of time

Also given the mess an oil change causes as a DIY activity, anyone aware of a reasonable price alternative to National Tyres (£42 for 5 liter)

SPECS    http://lukoil-lubricants.eu/sheet/data/AT/E/563107

news re PSA http://www.lukoil-lubricants.ru/en/News/News?rid=121328

thanks in advance

I expect there are quite a few brands of oil that meet the specs but are not PSA approved as the approval probably costs a lot of money. From looking at the datasheet, LUK are based in Austria, if so they are probably bound by some EU rules about specs claimed for their products, even if they are actually Russian owned and use Russian oil stocks.
You'll find any number of threads on here about oil for the 1.6 engine, I suggest having a search around. It's a faff and can be messy doing your own oil changes, others on here will have some suggestions about where to go. What part of the UK are you in?
