Peugeot Partner 03 Van owner
#1
Hi,

originally from Bolton now currently living in Barry ( south wales or gavin and stacey world)

I have only just come across this site as ive had a few issues with my Partner 03 1.9D but i will get to them soon

Bought it back in september 18 i think its now my 26th vehicle ( Im 26 years old too) only my second van tho my first was a fiat doblo 53 plate.

So i paid 1K for it as it pretty much must of come in the day before, it never got cleaned inside or out when i looked at it or picked it up as they wanted around 1.5K for it
Started off as a private painters van locally owned by the old V5 so imagine what the interior was like

so she is a white van, |=| style roof rack on the top, central locking which secures the rear doors too

i cant add pictures due to being on a work computer so ill describe what i have do so far ( i'll add pics off iphone later if possible)

Repairs - Exhaust - wheel baring - replaced rubber on pedals

Mods ( improvements )

Took out the ply lining on the side to save on room - i have now put thermal on the inside and then put 4 way stretch carpet over the top of that to make it abit warmer and nicer on the inside, on the floor i bought some carpet from carpet right on the roof i have put my corps flag on there ( Im military)

put neons on the inside of the rear of the van which plugs into the cigarette lighter, cheap alternative for rear lighting.

replaced the van steering wheel for the 206 GTI wheel which sits nicely however taking the van wheel off was a struggle

changed the radio for cheap aftermarket to connect with iphone

Fitted the headlight guards but painted them white.

New windscreen as it had a circular crack where previous owner put a sat nav holder and i guess it cracked due to the tension

Peugeot badge on the front is now in neo chameleon

Painted roof rack white

Painted the ladder load thing inside the van white

Bad points

Previous owner snapped Ariel so decided to fix it with what only i can presume is exhaust putty??

Over heating at speed so i will be changing the radiator fan this week.

Left brake light does not come on ( i have changed the holder the bulbs sit in, changed the bulb, checked the fuse. and i still cannot find the issue? however i did mong it and try to put the wrong brake bulb in when i was tired and didn't realise it wasn't the same bulb as every other car i have owned hasn't worked since.

Future points

To get some nicer wheels as my van wheels are quite rustic
re upholster the seat fabric, not keen on the blue, i re did my old mx5 mk1 my self so will give seats a try
change bumpers to body coloured
hopefully somehow fix the ariel or put dab one in
upgrade bulbs

PASS MOT IN JUNE!!!!!!!! Smile

I have an instagram (same username Jop3l if anyone wants to have a look will follow back)

hopefully this is a active forum as i know now with alot of youtube and stuff like carthrottle/Drivetribe the forum world is not as good as what it used to be.

Hello and welcome !

it sounds like you've been busy already hopefully you won't be quickly onto your 27th vehicle.

By the way there is a Haynes Manual on site for free download so have a search it may save you some hassle.

The aerial is a quick and easy fix with new original cheap on eBay - I bought one a few months back for £12 including the base.

Brake light - are you getting voltage to the lamp ? first check really.

Overheating - what sort of temp does the gauge reach to qualify as overheating ?

This is a fairly busy Forum and usually productive so worth trying out even if you use other sources as well.

Good luck with it all, a Berlingo / Partner is a basic and usually very reliable vehicle so worth persevering.

   Geoff.
