[Engine] Replacement Used Turbo
#1
im after a used replacement turbo for a 1.6 Hdi.  Been looking on ebay for ages but many different versions and dont know the differences.

Mine is 2006, 92ps, 9HX engine code, 375Q3 Citroen turbo code, MHI 49173-07503 - fairly certain of MHI No. but not overly clear to read.  All the turbos have various Mhi nos, are these interchangeable? Many on ebay are 07507, 07508.  Also does  anyone know any good breakers?  I've replaced the turbo feed & return pipes & the sump pickup, so just need the turbo to be back running again.... hopefully.

Do you need a whole new turbo, or would a core / cartridge be enough?

I was thinking the housing is probably worn/damaged where it was scraping the sides. Probably safer to replace complete but am open to suggestions.

Not convinced that a breakers would know which different turbo part numbers will fit my vehicle, any more than anyone else on here?

Can anyone tell me the differences between
mitsubishi turbo 49173-07503
mitsubishi turbo 49173-07504
etc etc up to 49173-07508
I know some of these are for the 75ps model only.

Have been unable to find a good condition 07503 on ebay UK, so i need to increase my chances with some alternative more common part numbers.

I buy turbos etc from these guys:

https://www.ukdieselparts.com/turbocharg...233178.htm

If you click the fitment tab there and scroll down a long way they have matching part numbers for just about every manufacturer including your Mitsubishi numbers:

49173-07502
49173-07504
49173-07506
49173-07507
49173-07508

can't get a hit there on 49173-07503 though.

Maybe 07503 is a mis-read of 07508?
In any case, I doubt that the car will know the difference if it's for the right engine. Send them the VIN & REG, see what they say. That's a very good price for a turbo with 2yrs warranty (depending on what part of the ad you read!).

It's worth keeping an eye on that site as they often have a good price on various bits and bobs and (like that one) they may not always want an exchange. Also you can sometimes pick up a 10% off code as a new visitor to the site. (Clear your cookies, use another browser, shop as t'missus).

The Turbo Technics one I got for the 110 Hp in the Mini came in at £180, no exchange - very pleased.

As to warranties? Like your insurance company - you never know how good they'll be until you claim.........

Mine had the part numbers stamped on a flat surface on the outside of the turbo?
