Radio Volume Problem.

The problem is that the radio spontaneously and randomly goes full volume and then continues to do so once adjusted. How do I resolve this issue. TIA

Hi there a bit more info would help responders like model of vehicle and age, model of radio. First thought is could there be something stuck or damaged on the remote stalk.
