Clutch/Gear Box Issue with Auto
#1
Folks,

Can you take a look at this youtube video of my Dads 2016 Citroen Berlingo M-SP 1.6 Diesel Auto.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uq_VBenOyYE

He broke down a few months ago and it got jammed in gear after a number of weeks of making a loud banging noise when it was getting put into gear.  Thankfully it was 2 weeks before the warranty ran out and the dealer said it was the clutch and they replaced it with reconditioned parts.

He got it back and it was still making this loud banging noise which caused the issue in the first place.

Long story short, they took it back and replaced the clutch with brand new parts and gave it back to him.

It still makes this loud banging noise and the manager at the dealer wants nothing more to do with him.  He refused to watch this video or even listen to the noise when the vehicle was changing gear, insisting that they fixed the problem.

The vehicle only has 12,000 miles I believe.

Can you give me your opinions on this please.

Apologies if this is the wrong section of the forum and many thanks in advance.

Hi just a thought that is ringing in my ears. I know you seem to think the noise is gearbox linked and it possible still is.
I dont have an automatic, but l do own a October 2015 Berlingo blu 120 ss 1.6 diesel that was recalled for a replacement pump cable. Prior to taking it to Citroen I was experiencing some strange symptoms and the only way l could describe the intermittent noise was as if the starter motor was engaging whilst the engine was running, an extremely worrying racket.
Since the recall was carried out it has been perfect.. could it be that yours is at a more advanced stage.? Citroen would not tell me the reason for the recall and do all dealerships know the reason or is it just we do recall work as instructed by Citroen full stop. By the way my car mileage is only 8,400 Good luck it sounds like your in for the long haul.

I think you need to contact Citroen UK & your local trading standards office. Let the dealer's main man know you're going to do this, and that you've been on this forum, and that you're looking for an independent report. Who & where is the dealer by the way? Maybe Citroen will agree for you to take it to another dealer for their opinion.
