i have an 04 with the 2.0 diesel. would not start after stopping. fellow put a computer on it and it showed peak pressure then 0 repeating. on advice from the man i checked the little lines that clipped onto each injector and they were fine. although replacing the pump was daunting i went for it, as this job would have cost me more than i paid for the van. after putting the used one in it behaves exactly the same. no sputter, no signs of life whatever. any thoughts? Im new to the diesel game.

Probably best to start with some basics, have you primed the pump via squeezing the primer bulb?

You could try a very small amount of cold start in the air intake and see if the engine fires at all.
I think you need to buy or get access to an OBD reader with bluetooth & the Torque app (runs on Android). That way you can see the rail pressure and can also check for fault codes. Or even better would be access to the Lexia diagnostic kit.

cheers, fired right away with the cold start. At least i feel hopefull although the pump job may have been for naught. im gonna look for a pressure sensor in breaker yard as they want over 150 for them new. Any other ideas will be appreciated.

You might save a bit of money by getting an OBD code reader with the Torque app on an Android phone. That way you can see what's going on a bit better. There are also apps for the Iphone but I have no idea how well they work.
