BSI RESET WITH A KEY WITH NO REMOTE FUNCTION
#1
Hello everybody!
Just wondering if a BSI reset can be carried out with an ignition key that has no remote function? (buttons are missing!) The drivers door unlocks but all other doors only unlock after starting the engine. Then when drivers door is opened all the rest unlock! Funky eh?

If the key starts the car, you can sync or re-sync the remote without Lexia or Diagbox. You can get a new remote key holder with buttons from several places, just remember to take the immobiliser chip out of the old remote.
I found the following from a quick search, from what I remember, it's the same instructions that you get from Lexia after adding a new key..

Synchronization of HF PLIP remote controls

When replacing the batteries of an HF PLIP remote control, it is necessary to resynchronize the remote control.

1) Put the HF key to be synchronized in position "ignition +"
2) Press one of the HF key buttons within the next 10 seconds
3) Release the HF key button
4) The ignition key HF PLIP is synchronized.
5) Repeat and perform previous operations for the other keys equipped with HF remote control.
6) Perform a locking / unlocking test of the vehicle doors and tailgate. If the locking / unlocking test of the doors and tailgate fails, restart the synchronizations of all the ignition keys equipped with HF PLIPS.

So a working remote key is the only way to carry out a reset?

Have a search for a bsi reset and don't bother with the stage that includes the remote key part.
Here you go follow this http://www.petercoopercarrepairs.co.uk/p...cedure.htm

That's an interesting thread you've linked.
Apologies to Harry, I mis-read the first post.
