Spare Key
#1
Bought the Van yesterday, It drives well has a fair bit of kit I noticed the Airbag light was staying on. And the Aircon doesn’t appear to working unless I’m doing something wrong with the S,witches Smile
I managed to get the Price down due to those Items. Unfortunately the Van only has one Key not a push button one just a plain black key with a red tab. I was wondering if I would have to go to Citroen Dealer for a new key ?
Thanks

Dealer keys will cost a lot of money. I bought my spare from a very helpful eBay seller
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131301220440

The link is for a non-remote key, but they did also sell keys with a remote. For this and other online sellers, you'll proably need to supply the key number, or a reasonable picture. I also had the option to go to a local locksmith's and get a 'clone' key cut. The clone key is a simpler option as it does not require programming into the immobiliser.

Thanks Cancunia
That’s very helpful I just need to work out which chip transponder might have been in the original Key.

If you get the working key cloned, the key cutter will take care of that for you & should also take care of the remote locking. AFAIK, the transponder chips are a quite common type, but new chips need to be registered / programmed into the car immobiliser. If you have Lexia or Diagbox, the blank key is the least cost & most secure route, otherwise a clone is probably best. Or you could see what the main dealer wants but make sure you're sitting down just in case..
