Looking for help, possibly a revs issue

Hi all

If you have read my posts you might no I have an annoying engine management light issue which I thought was going off when gathering speed but now realise that is not the case.

So the light comes on when I start the engine, I have discovered if I sit in the van  not moving and give a tiny amount of throttle lifting the revs, after a few seconds the light goes off. If I take my foot off the throttle and the revs drop back to idle a few seconds pass and back on comes the light.

So looks like it is directly linked to the revs anyone have any ideas? I thought I could try adjusting the revs so they sit higher at idle but not sure if there is a deeper issue???

I have just been out and adjusted the idle slightly which has turned off the management light. Very strange I don't really understand the reason for this, not sure if this is just a bodge to the underlying problem.
