Master cylinder reservoir
#1
I may have mentioned this before, I've managed to snap the spigot off the brake reservoir on the lower one that attaches to the master cylinder. I've tried various fixes but nothing will stop the leak so decided to get a new reservoir of ebay, only the one that turned up was damaged in exactly the same way. I've looked at a couple more on ebay and they look damaged in the same place as well, its obviously a weak point on them.

Is there a better place than ebay to get one from, they are about £30 on there, would the main dealers be a better bet, the part number is 4635E5 I think.

Thanks.

Have you got and manufacturing marks or part numbers on the broken one. I would get a price of a dealer first then if that's to much try the usual places like euro car parts and SGF and car parts for less. Especially on a big discount day.
Are we there yet????? Huh

Brake Reservoir part # 4635E5 will cost £44.75 (incl VAT) from a Citroen dealer.

Cheers, I will try Motaquip in Trafford Park, they are a Peugeot and Citroen parts dealer nowadays so should be able to get one. I did find a second hand one on Ebay again that looks in good condition for £30 including postage but you just cant tell from the pictures 100% what its like, I think for the extra its got to be worth buying new.

Well that was simple, managed to get one from the above place, price as quoted above too.

Now all I have to do is fit it without getting brake fluid everywhere, not sure how to get the fluid out of the reservoir as is doesn't have a filling cap, maybe siphon it through the broken spigot.

All done and dusted, I did get brake fluid everywhere but just washed it off everything, hopefully the brakes/clutch don't need bleeding and seem to be ok, I clamped the flexi pipe for the clutch just before it attaches to the reservoir so hopefully any air in the system has found its way back out of the reservoir upwards.
