Further to my previous post about suspension noise suspected to be caused by dodgy strut top mount.
I have not checked just about everything possible and still cannot find the source of this noise.
If the vehicle is stationary with the engine running, wheels positioned straight ahead, as soon as I begin to turn the steering wheel either way, there is short creaking type noise as the wheel is initially turned . The noise gives the impression of a dodgy anti roll bar link or ball joint. if you look at my previous post, i have had just about everything checked out ok. But I have just found out that if the engine is not running and I turn the steering either way, there is no noise. I took the cap off the power steering reservoir and found air bubbles rising. Could air somehow getting into the system be the cause of this noise.
The van in question has a recent new steering rack and power steering pump fitted.
