Hi Ruddy, it's a 1.9 diesel.
The lacquer is peeling off the bonnet. It was like it when I bought it, albeit not as bad as it is now.
Whenever I wash it a bit more comes off, so I will keep on doing this until it's all gone, then apply a fresh coat. The roof and various other areas need attention too, but the photo doesn't show this so much.

Hi Ruddy, thanks for the tip on peeling lacquer.
I was fortunate that a friend of mine (also a window cleaner) was selling up and emigrating, so I got the red ones from him. The blue set were given to me by a charity shop customer of mine!
They should be readily available from any good cleaning supplies outlet, so you might want to tell your man or get him to wrap some rags around his ladders the next time he calls to you!
S-Z man! ? That's a new one on me but I love it! ?
Best wishes,
John
