Hello
#1
Hello fellow Berlingo owners.

I own a 2005 Berlingo 1.9 van, which I bought in November 2016 for my window cleaning business.

I have read many of the threads on the forum, particularly the members' vehicles section, from which I have gained much inspiration to transform my own van from a tired looking but reliable workhorse, to a vehicle which will turn heads and further enhance the grin factor that goes along with driving a Berlingo.

If it's of interest to fellow members, I intend to create a thread which will document progress made, along with some pics if I can work out how to upload them!  Smile

Best wishes,
John.

Welcome to the forum, it's always good to see how people have updated their Berlingos. Pictures can be added via attachments, and I think there's another way too but am not too sure how.

Hi Ruddy, it's a 1.9 diesel.

The lacquer is peeling off the bonnet. It was like it when I bought it, albeit not as bad as it is now.

Whenever I wash it a bit more comes off, so I will keep on doing this until it's all gone, then apply a fresh coat. The roof and various other areas need attention too, but the photo doesn't show this so much.

Hi john
Loads of videos on youtube on how to sort that lacquer peel out..

Them rubber bungs on your ladders .. wish our window cleaner had those....scuffs the claddin on my bay....we call him the S - Z man ...as in all he does is a big S or a Z on the window then on to the next......
Wouldnt mind a pair of those .......AMAZON or e-bay by any chance??

Hi Ruddy, thanks for the tip on peeling lacquer.

I was fortunate that a friend of mine (also a window cleaner) was selling up and emigrating, so I got the red ones from him. The blue set were given to me by a charity shop customer of mine!

They should be readily available from any good cleaning supplies outlet, so you might want to tell your man or get him to wrap some rags around his ladders the next time he calls to you!

S-Z man! ? That's a new one on me but I love it! ?

Best wishes,
John
