Removing plastic (?) from rear windows

Hi,

I'm a new person here. And fairly new to vehicle terminology so please excuse my lack of......

Have recently bought a second hand 1.9D Enterprise and i'm trying to find out if it's possible to remove the white plastic (if it is indeed plastic?) that's coating the 2 rear windows.

I was told it was, but not how! Just want to let some light in the back.

warm it up with a hair drier and it should just peel off, or a hot air gun if you're very careful.
