Chinese diesel heater.
#1
Thought I would extend my time in the van, a heater, gasheater (small tin type) no good,2.5hours but warm enough.
Bought Chinese diesel heater, over night at 8 deg used 1lt of fuel zero outside (there about) but heater outside with tailgate bottom open 2inch to get heater pipes in, plus it was slightly noisey, but that is the muffler, chinese are straight throw, but you can get proper mufflers at (I paid) £30 from shop.

Right for 6 months looked all over the net, for Berlingo with a overnight heater, not one thought about putting it in a box as could not see anyware in the car unless I gave up space. On fitting the 110ah batterys I noticed the storage under the front seatsagged a bit also if you push on the sides it is hollow. So I wondered if the back footwells was the same, jigsaw in hand I cut the footwell (plastic under the carpet) the well is 4.5inch deep, 22inch long and about 14inch wide. Seeing the heater is 15inch long 5inch wide and 6 inch deep, it would fit, but the handbreak cable runs there in a pipe.

Tried to get the car tank outlet fitted and diesel pipe onto the heater, but this will be 1 August, garage close holiday.

So went home and put 3mm steel plate to make the floor up, covered it with black (looks gray at the side of car floor) Holes for the heat, now looking for a nice bit of mesh to go over holes.

I have seen on youtube, a berlingo diy camper with a diesel heater fitted into the space behind the left side rear wheel arch. It was boxed in with 2 hot air outlets.

I have spent hours searching Berlingos diy camper vans (how to do it what you can do) also diesel heaters, but never come across that one.
Wish I had seen it.
Took the car to Cumbria last week, thought now its fitted I would give it a second go, well not shore whats gone off, but I could not belive the white smoke on fire up, it was going for 3-4 minutes never had that before, but must admit never drove through so many puddles on and across the road, it was also a real damp 9am morning. But once dried out worked fine, now home going someware out the way to see if it does it again.

Not seen that one its good, they built the side out to take it, but not bad as it gives a shelf on topd the outlets (air in &  fumes out) go to the spare wheel area, but on short lenghts of pipe.

Thanks for finding it me, be good for one or two with the toilet, but what a place to put a 4 inch fan blowing in.

Well first night away with heater working, yes you can hear the pump inside, but outside very little noice (fitted under on chassy) pump set at minimal pumps per minute, set temprature at 13 deg, in the car was 17 deg all night, not shore on fuel as fitted to tank, but the gauge looks as if its not moved 14 hours running.
Next time setting the heater ro 8 deg see if that brings the heat down over night, slightly to warm to sleep.
As for noise as I said you can hear the pump, but did not stop me dropping off, as for some complaints I have heared and read they sound like a jet engine, yes for about 5 minute, this is when you start it, once the car is to temprature (about 5 minutes) it quitens down, 6 feet away could hardly hear it, I was in a wooded area no one around so died quite, in the car hardly any noice from the heater fan, slight blowing sound. Now I did not sleep all night woke up 3-4 times (old age) but on checking the heater hekd 17 deg, did not slow fown but did not speed up. My thoughts on sounds like a jet engine all the time, from what I have seen on Youtube and a couple on campsites, they have the heater on with atleast one door open, its trying to heat the van to take the thremastat over the set temprature and it cannot, so goes on full power all the time. Me started mine at 5.30pm so it on camp site people are milling round so on start up it would not bother them, on all night so get up car warm, not having to start in the morning waking every one up.
stripped mine from this type, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/All-In-One-2K...16885e5c12
