Side Light come on when it bump and noise motor noise from left headlamp

Hi

Have a 54 Plate 2.0 Diesel, all at a sudden when I start in the morning or hit a tiny bump the side lights come on.
I just touch the light stalk and it goes off

What I noticed as well, when I put the main lights on there is a wearing noise coming from the passenger side head lamp.

I don't know if this is related.

I was going to wait till car went for a service and get the light done, but now making that noise need to get sorted before starts getting dark.

Any ideas?  I did see something about just changing the stalk, then another link that a £4 part to replace.

Is your indicator stalk wobbly ? There is a small part at the base of the stalk which wears out and allows contacts to touch when you go over a bump. Look on Youtube and decide if you think you could do it yourself. Just google comms 2000 repair and look at videos.

If you have adjustable headlights from the rotary switch in the dash the noise could be coming from the motor attached to the headlight. It is replaceable and there is a few threads on here about it have a search. And as Ffrenchie says sounds like the indicator stalk this can be replaced or repaired also.
