howdy lads
my mates multispace started and ran for about two minutes, then stopped an would not start again, all lights on dash have come on and some thing keep making a noise, even when keys are removed . the only to stop lights is to disconnect battery
I have tried to do a bsi reset but nothing happens , when battery is reconnected every thing seems ok untill switched on ,the dash lights up like a Christmas tree . the car tn urns over bu still refuse to start, also when connected to computer it will not detect the vin number automatically
does this mean that the brain has given or is this another problem
thanks in anticipation

That looks like a bsi failure, these are the exact symptoms I saw when mine was wrecked by water damage. Have a look at it and check for water ingress.

what is your thinking on repair , at that age i think that it would be uneconomical to repair. it is a 2003 model multispace

Mine was a 2006 in otherwise good order. As you say worth almost nothing, but I was lucky enough to be put in touch with a local man who was an expert at repairing these.
He told me where to go and find a similar bsi unit for £15. It took him about 30 minutes to clone my wrecked bsi to the replacement. All vehicle info, mileage etc was still accessible on the old bsi even though it was wrecked. It really was amazing to see him working on this and have the van up and running as normal in half an hour. Charged £50 for calling out and doing the replacement.

hello
just found out some more of what happened to car, some times when driving over bumpy roads the lights would go out .power steering pump not working, could this all be coming from comms unit at steering wheel, cannot see any ingress of water to either engine components or fuse board inside car,i am going by my 03 c5vtr, now sadly gone to scrapyard in sky, i have tried a bsi reset to no avail
maybe at the least it will need a comms unit.
If there is any one out there that can teach me how to use the lexia 3 computer please contact me
thanks
