B9- do they all have DPF??

Hi, as per thread title, do all of these models have DPF fitted ( well, the diesel!)??

I currently have a 2006 1.9D van, which is great apart from it feeling so flat when you hit a hill or acceleration onto the motorways- although it does cruise nicely on the flat at 70.

I am considering getting anewer B9 model but, with all the potential DPF problems( even with decent runs, fuel and cleaners) , would I be better off getting the M59 model with the 90bhp 1.6 HDI ( which I don't think had a DPF- or do some earlier B9 models not have them either?

Can't remember exactly when but earlier B9's do not have a DPF. It may be the switch to 8v engines that was the start of DPF's. A search around should throw up a few threads on the subject.

My 2010 110PS (16v) B9 had a DPF, so I think it is more to do with power level, transmission etc. A previous thread on here had a link that you could put your VIN in to check. Can't seem to find the link now, anyone else help?

My 2011 1.6hdi has no DPF,, runs great.

B9 110 PS/ BHP have FAP / DPF up to 2012 after that date all Diesel's have DPF/ FAP .
