[Engine] Slow start from ECO
#1
My 2014 VTR 1.6 auto (39K) generally runs very well. It usually does a non-stop 75 mile each way trip on clear roads each week when I give it a blast to clear the particulate filter.

But sometimes, not just warm days, it almost stalls when trying to accelerate quickly at a T junction or when joining a busy roundabout.

Waiting stationary for a few minutes the ECO system stops the engine, but when a suitable gap in traffic would allow me to nip forward, the engine just seems to stumble and do nothing for a second or two, making the situation dangerous.

It's always been regularly serviced by the main Citroen dealers, and is garaged for most of the time. I fill up with Esso premium diesel when it gets to half-full. So any ideas? It's going to have new front pads in November and if it's a known fault I'd like to get it sorted while at the dealership.

you can disengage the eco start stop, in a european car at the left side of the steering wheel. For english car see manual. Then you don't loose the seconds to restart.

UK (RHD vehicle) the ECO switch is low on the RHS of the dash.
