I'm on my 3rd Berlingo and have bought one without the Modutop. I don't really miss the roof windows or the rear storage, but am now missing the overhead storage above the front seats. I looked at the roof bar threads but want to avoid building into the load area so I have more head room so am looking at making something just for the front.
I've started to build something using 8mm threaded bar & angle brackets out of the front roof bar mounts with an idea to make a tee piece between the brackets and along to the front shelf, similar to the Modutop. The angle brackets give a good drop to allow storage space but am now wondering what to make the shelf out of. I have enough 12mm ply to do the job but wondered if that might be a bit of overkill so wondered about 6mm ply.
Has anyone done this, or something similar, or perhaps have a B9 Modutop shelf that they don't want?
