I get a faint hot oil smell, after a few miles and the engine is hot, what could cause that.

Strange that...
On my first car, that smell translated to 'Hey, the heater is working!'
Which engine do you have?
Is there any 'brown goo' in the radiator/expansion tank. Is there any brown goo on the oil filler cap?
Does the engine look dry on the outside?
Is there any mysterious black spots on the ground where you usually park it?
Does it use much oil?
(as in do you have to periodically add more?)
How long since the last oil change?
you HAVE checked the oil level, right?

Sorry for the late reply, it did turn out to be a leaky injector seal. Thanks for the replies.
