So, um... hi? :)

Well hello there.

My name is Riff and I'm an al... oh dang wrong group.

I've just purchased my first Berlingo, and oddly enough this is only the second car forum I've ever joined, the first was for Xantias, many years ago. Strange I only join Citroen groups.

I'm 56, and my health is a bit iffy at times, so I bought this to get away from it all, in a "part time stealth camper" role. That's a rather new life for me, but I quite like the idea. I have a couple of happy hounds who enjoy long walks even if they don't much like car journeys, and I'm a keen amateur photographer so this seems like the ideal vehicle for doing that. I have plans for awnings, interior camper type modules and stuff but I might just go with a big tent and arctic sleeping bag.

I joined to get a sense of what others do with their Berlingos - and of course to ask the question how is the name pronounced? Is it Bear Lingo, or Burr Lingo, or Berlin Go? Or even Berl In Go

Mine is a 2006, 55 plate Mk 1 Desire, but I'm yet to be an expert on models and identification so that'll have to do for the moment. It seems to have a billion secret compartments but the tiniest of glove boxes, but drives nicely and is in remarkably good nick, apart from a few minor bodywork blemishes.

So I'm here to pick brains and chew fat and I'm all out of gum.

Welcome to the Sanity!
(The Berlingo is just such a versatile and sensible car that you have to be insane NOT to buy one. Ergo, buying one proves thet you're sane. )

The niftiest secret compartments are the two under the rubber mats in front of the rear passenger seats, in case you haven't found them, yet.

A 2006 places it in the M59 'Facelift' range.
