Aftermarket remote central locking
#1
I'm confused!

Ok so I have purchased remote central locking from ebay. I'm trying to install it in drivers door.

I have managed to get it to work by wiring direct to the battery. I have 5 wire thick blue, thick green and thin pink, thin green, thin green/ yellow.

What I'm struggling to find is permanent live. I figure there must be one to power the door locks for keyed operation.

Here is where I have got to.

Thin pink, lock close / open signal
Thin green, sends message back to bsi if door is open.
Thin green/yellow, earth

So I would assume thick wires are live/neutral however I have no power.

This is the first time I've attempted anything like this.

If you have a M49 or a M59 there is a fuse box under the steering wheel where you should be able to pick a permanent live. A cheap multi meter would show which is  which.  Not sure about the later models.
Or the battery is a permanent live or the engine fuse box will have them
I would guess that the thick blue is live and thick green is earth but that's a guess.

I would be careful about connecting anything to the BSI especially if not really essential
No instructions or are they in Chinese ?

If your car has already an electric window or a remote central locking you should find life in the driver door.

There was a video on YouTube for "Citroen Xsara Mk2 How to Fit Universal Keyless Remote Central Locking Fitting Guide Instructions.mp4" installing a Chinese system.

If you are sure not having life in the door watch "Citroen xsara picasso keyless entry kit.mp4".

Booth working as a standalone unit not using a preinstalled remote control.
