[Filters & Oil] ACEA C1 or C2 for my B9 with DPF?
#1
Sorry, it's yet another oil thread.

My 2013 B9 has done almost 29000 miles, next service is due at around 30k so I'm planning to change the oil & filter this weekend, weather permitting.

The Warranty / Service book states that ACEA C2 (INEO ECS 5W/30) or C1 (INEO FIRST 0W/30) are both suitable, but reading the specs it seems that C1 is Low SAPS & C2 is Mid SAPS.

Just wondered what people are using, is there a good reason for using C1 oil if it's planned to change every 6k?

Thanks

No replies to what's normally a hot topic, I guess everyone's thinking "Oh no, not again!"
I've re-read the threads in the B9 section and from what I can see, the C2 oil is fine for the DPF engines & in fact that's what I come across when I do a search for compatible oils against my reg.

Of the many threads & posts I looked through, this seems to be a good example:

Low and mid saps oils are fine mate with 0w30 you may get a few more mpg.

Thanks, I've ordered some Total INEO ECS 5W/30.
Most expensive oil I've ever bought!
Cheaper from here than the ECP Triple QX equivalent

I guess either oil is suitable, as the C1 will surpass the requirements .
However the 0/30 is very thin and could cause you to spring leaks that you didn’t have before.
The adblue cars now run in the 0/30 and I can’t see much change one the actual workings of the engine, apart from the fuel & injector differences.
The ad blue cars use a different oil filter also.
I think you made the correct choice to stick with the C2 tbh .
