[Warning Light] Electrical circuit fault
#1
Battery light came on today with a lovely little ping noise as well as a warning in the display saying "electrical circuit fault"

Van is 5 years old covered less than 20k miles - surely can't be the alternator can it?

Battery perhaps?

Light went out after 10 mins and then came back on about 10 mins later

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Maybe a loose connection near the battery or an earth lead from the battery. Easiest check is with a multimeter or voltage tester and see if the battery is charging when the engine runs. Beyond that, I'd suggest getting a diagnostic check, probably Diagbox would be best to read any Citroen specific fault, maybe something like the Android Torque app would do the job too.

Thanks Cancunia I have ordered a tester to do just that.

I was unaware there was an App that you could do checks with so will look into that also.

You should be getting 14 volt from the battery with the engine running, to test a bad battery it needs to be load tested.

Have you checked to see if the battery is charging correctly when the engine is running as described above by cancunia & V6BOY
