Stereo bongs lost

The rear parking assistance output from memory is under the main BSI ecu section, (not Parking Assistance, or Radio, etc) and change it from speakers to fault buzzer or whatever it calls the little piezo in the steering column.

The original stereo has to be fitted before the options show up.

Go to BSI > configuration > manual configuration> parking assistance output > then you can select from front and rear to be speakers or fault buzzer.

I'm talking from memory as my last van had reversing sensors but the current one doesn't.

Struggling here bud. Could you please clarify what you know. Have these headings on first opening of diag
Delivery of vehicle to customer.
Repair.
Fault finding.
maintenance .
Went to repair where upon you get a list of the vehicles components. Top one BSI second one ECU.Went into both of these:-
BSI
Identification.
Fault reading.
Standard parameter measurement.
Personalised parameter measurement.
Actuators test.
Maintenance BSI operating mode.
Electrical consumption log.
Repair.
ECU:-

Fault repair.
Fault erasing history.
Standard parameter measurement.
personalised parameter measurement.
Actuator tests.

Far as I can tell none of these headings lead to anything you describe. Now am I in the right place? What is the unit in the steering column for. Is it possible I don’t have this option because I don’t have whatever ancillary it’s primarily for? Is it easier just to get the wife to make the beeping noiseSmile I have fitted the original stereo. Any enlightenment appreciated.

Go into "Delivery of vehicle to customer". then you should get the configuration options. Next it's a case of looking for BSI > manual configuration> parking assistance output > then you can select from front and rear to be speakers or fault buzzer.

I need to hook mine up but not able to yet (low single figures temperature here). Can't look at the menus without connection to the van.

What version do you have? Should be 7.57 to 7.62 ideally.  Later versions don't have configuration available.

Here's the manual for Diagbox, limited use but should help somewhat.

It’s on 7.58. Had a look not hooked up to van. Under “delivery of vehicle to customer” the top heading “new vehicle preparation” seems the only option as the other 2 don’t lead anywhere. Will try it on the van tomorrow as it keeps asking to be connected and can only get so far. Seem to remember it just gives a list of items but could not seem to interact with anything. Thanks for the manual.

No worries. You have to be connected to see the menus. New vehicle preparation will be the right section. It's all about options and fitted equipment.

This may depend on your head unit. On my Sony I was able to assign all the buttons on the stalk to various functions, including skip and voice control. It worked ok out of the box, but I was able to tweak the buttons to my preferences on the Sony.
