New battery time
#1
Hi folks,

I need a new battery and was hoping to get some recommendations.
I have the stop/start system so I guess I need the AGM battery.

Thanks in advance

Billy

Make sure you get at least the same spec or higher than your original and get a decent make. Sign up for euro parts emails and GSF and watch out for their special offers and you could get 50% off of similar.
Are we there yet????? Huh

I've bought from Tayna batteries a couple of times in the past. The way their web site is structured could do with some changes as you can't sort by price and you have to back up a level to see all batteries that fit, but beyond that, prices / delivery are good and customer service was very good. At the time I bought my last battery, they were also on eBay where the prices are a bit better & they price matched against a cheaper battery with the same make/model from France.

Thanks for your replies.
I'm looking at the E39 Varta start stop plus from Tanya.(£131.99) + £7.98 delivery

As far as I know the Varta and Bosch are made in the same factory so am I right in thinking that this one would be ok.

Cor blimey !!! I'd rather risk RSI in my wrist and keep turning the ignition key ( do they still have these ? ) than pay that sort of money out ....... please don't start me on the eco argument.

I feel the same Geoff but I don't know if an acid battery would work. To be honest I don't really care if the stop start works or not.

^^ A cruel position to be in for sure. I'm old school I even turn off the auto lights.

If it was me I'd try a lead acid battery if I didn't use the AUTO car functions as that way there would be no need for a posh battery.

Others will advise I'm sure.
