Hi all as you may agree the Lingo is not the quietest motor on the road - but you can make it better !
To try and reduce the clunks and squeaks I've carried out the following-
Roof lined with 10mm sticky foam made a difference
Under the bonnet added 10mm foam not sure if that was worth it ...
I've just added 25mm of wadding:-
To the roof void - worth doing - not to bad to do but support the headlining or it will crease as you drop it down. Tip doesn't need to come all the way down, just enough to feed the wadding through to the front - remove the fir trees holding it up and the rear B and C pillar trims.
Same again to the tailgate - a pain getting the clips out with out breaking them all spray adhesive then stick the wadding on but worth while.
Just done much the same to the front - door fiddly as you have to cut the wadding to fit around the braces and not fowl the window.
I also added some on the back of the door trim - that's much easier!
whilst your have the door trim off its worth tightening the bolts holding the window mechanism in place, very loose on mine
I got both from eBay seller "car-insulation-uk" lots of others too
Other noises
Rear seats have a pin that fits in the floor can can make a clunk a bit o the foam around the floor socket helps
Dog gard where the rod sits in the roof sockets - again wrapped in foam.
If you have "flange" tow bar the spare wheel carrier can knock on the tow bar - cable ties round the bar will help - that took weeks to find.....
I hope that helps someone - these noises have driven me crazy trying to fiix them - still some more to locate
Jake
PS any one know hoe the read door trims come off ? looks like a right royal faff
