Damp carpet in boot and underneath also wet
#1
Changed the cabin filters today (absolutely jet black and filled with dirt/dust and vegetation) - so figured the bad smell would be gone after an air con clean.

So after feeling all manly, I decided to clean the car and give it a vacuum - all sorted until I got to the boot - carpet was damp and I figured I'd spilled something - but nothing in the boot with liquid.

Removed carpet and the rear sides are soaked. I dried up the floor and I'm now running warm air over the carpet to dry it out.

Whilst it was in the car, the smell was back and it was horrific.

So, where should I be looking for any water ingress? Or could it be a drain hole(s) blocked that need cleaned?

Puggy Partner Tepee Outdoor - Jan 14 version - with double boot lid (window and main door). Window seals and boot seal all appear to be in order and not misshapen.

Where else should I be looking? Both sides are damp (actually very wet).

Thanks.

My B9 felt damp inside behind the rear side panels, I guessed it was the door seals or condensation against the steel panels. It could perhaps be the side windows?

When i bought my berlingo multispace the boot carpet was damp, as I stripped the interior panels out to fit my tow bar I noticed that it was really leaking water in on the left hand side mainly from the wiring loom grommet on the top lh side of the body/tailgate, but also from both tail lights, it was running  into the car behind the panel and then going onto the carpet, so much so my luggage tie down points were rusty. I took the grommet out and used an engine sealer in the lip of the grommet before swishing it back into place. I tried to seal the tail lights a number of times but they always leaked a bit until I took them out and used a piece of clear plastic( I used a strong plastic freezer bag) and stuck this across the holes in the body behind the lights totally sealing/sticking them using the engine sealer. I then cut a small slit in this plastic to allow the wiring plug to come through before putting the lights back in. this worked a treat and the  car has been bone dry since. hope this helps.
