Hi all, hope someone can help me out.
I've just replaced the top two engine mountings as they were cracked and allowing some engine rock.
Problem is, the engine still rocks!!
I replaced the one underneath some time ago so I think that's still ok.
Had a look this afternoon and on revving the engine I could see that there was movement at the drivers side.
Just above his mounting there are two rubber pads fitted on a bracket (which I also replaced) and there are gaps between them and the wedge shaped orifice where they fit. I think this is allowing the movement.
Question is, can the play taken up by adjustment? It looks like there is a threaded bar coming up with a rubber stop on the top, just underneath the metal bracket which is bolted over the whole mounting. Be great if those pads could be set lower to sit snugly against the sides of the wedge.
I can't find anything in the manual about this and I must admit I didn't take much notice when I changed it, expecting everything to just fit ok.
Sorry about long-winded description but I have trouble getting pics uploaded.
