OK, what did I buy? :)
#1
Hello,

Today I bought myself a 2005 Berlingo van with +/-268000km. It's a lot, but hey, it's a 2.0 HDI and it's only going to be used as a second vehicle ... mostly for going out with the dogs.

I bought it for only €1600, wich is a bargain. It has no real big dents, some scratches, but hè ... it needs some TLC and a polish. The interior is intact ... dusty, but intact ... gonna give it a real detail-wash, gonna take out the seats and everything.

My neighbour is a car mechanic and will give it a full service before I take it to the road ... at the moment I'm just doing some mods ... need some LED-strip for interior lighting in the back ... a mounting system for my iphone ... an extra USB slot on the dash, etc. Gonna tint the windows again, took of the previous tint foil, the guy did a terrible job. Smile

Looking for some nice wheels (15 inch?) and want to put new all-season tyres on them.

But ... my question ... when I turn the eninge on I can hear a warning noise (3 beeps) and different lights come in ... something wrong here? I took some pictures ... my neightbour (mechanic) did not see it yet, he's taking it for a service next week.

Looks like it may be telling you its low on fuel also on the 3rd pic it looks like the passenger airbag may be turned off.

See if you can download a user manual.

If the engine is running the tacho is not working?

Low on fuel, i get it, the orange thing in the left ... but is the beeping also a warning for this?
What's this tacho? The numer with the wrench, what does this mean?

I have the original user manual, I will check this.

Are your photos showing the dashboard while the engine is running?
tacho is the rev counter, yours is showing zero so we assume the engine is not running
The number on the wrench is how many kilometers before the next service is due

The 0000--f  is showing your oil level which is low
The 3 bleeps may be that your fuel is so low, I am not sure

Mine beeps 3 times when the low fuel light comes on. As trevor said oil is low shown by the dipstick symbol and series of zeros and dashes and the spanner symbol and mileage is until next service.
Are we there yet????? Huh
