Hi Guys,
Power steering pump sheered off the other day, not sure why will try to find cause after replacement.
Anyways I am trying to removed the old pump but because the bolts have sheared I'm struggling for purchase to remove bolts and stuff.
I have removed the lower hose but for the life of me cannot figure out how to get the top hose out.
I have tried to slacken the nut at the top off (the one coupled to the high pressure line) and it has slackened at the base of the pump.
It however is still coupled fast to the hose itself.
I have tried twisting the nut anti clockwise but the nut and hose are moving as one.
I have given it some semi welly and the hose is beginning to twist.
I am hesitant to horse it at this point incase it snaps or something.
If it is possible I am also open to just fitting a belt to bypass the power steering pump and only run the alternator if this is possible?
I have heard you fail an MOT if your vehicle is meant to have power steering but it isn't working.
Many thanks in advance, apologies for the essay.
Hope all are well,
Kindest regards,
-Scott
