about a month ago i had my clutch cable snap (berlingo 55 2.0hdi) hadit replaced but ever since the clutch had been very stiff at the bottom of the pedle (bitting point ) and a couple of days ago it freed up but i had a bad clutch judder, the next day the clutch gave up altogether depress the peddle and cant get any gears at all . so she goes in tuesday for new clutch kit . got a good deal from car parts 4 you of £107 for a luk kit BUT had a email today saying it was out of stock.so got my fingers crossed that it arrives by monday or im in the poop.

Its unusual for a cable to snap if the clutch is in good working order. Its probably the cause and the cable snapping was a symptom of a bad/sticking clutch.

Having done plenty of these over the years, I can tell you that if you fit an aftermarket cable, it usually makes the pedal very stiff , as no one seems to be able to copy them correctly.
Downside is that a genuine cable is over £100, but is the only one that functions correctly.

i think it will be the thrust bearing that is the problem. i had the same thing with my old berlingo.clutch had no problems before the cable went. mind i could be wrong.

it seems the problem was the Clutch guide tube .the clutch was in good nick. but when apart i had a complete kit as well as clutch leaver.
must say the clutch is very nice now light and smooth best ive had on my berlingos .cost a few bob but im well happy.
