how long to change clutch

hi whats the average time to replace a clutch in a berlingo 55  2.0hdi.  thanks

As a retired mechanic & knowing the layout,I would estimate 5-8 hrs depending on skill level.

Depends how much they charge an hour but i would have thought a garage with a ramp, air tools and a lot of experience doing them its more like 4 hours. I think Ron was thinking of you doing it yourself on the floor.

When i was young i could do a clutch in a ERF truck in 4 hours LOL

Yes, but this is a Berlingo, not an ERF truck.
I bet there's some actual room to work in in an ERF...
And they don't have transverse engine and gearbox on a FWD car.
Getting the gearbox out is nearly an 'engine out' operation.
In fact, it might just be easier that way...

You're right.I would have thought a good garage could do it in 6?

about year ago i changed clutch to my 2.0hdi berlingo. Wasn't too hard to do, but most time i used for coffee breaks etc. i don't remember how much it took time but after 2 days it was on road again. 6 hours of continuous work is maybe "OK" time.
