Best way to remove washer pump
#1
I hit a dog which ran out in front of me today, managed to rescue the dog and he's doing ok, but the impact has broken the outlet off the washer pump. I think the tank is ok so just going to try and replace the pump first.

What's the best way to access the pump, and does it just pull out or unscrew?

Wasn't very easy to work it out in the dark tonight!

Thanks

Best thing to do is drop the front section of the wheel arch liner & you can gain access to the pump from underneath, basically below the headlamp in the end section of the bumper cavity.
You will find it much easier if you Jack the car up at the front.
The washer pump just pulls out of the tank , it is pushed into a rubber grommet .

Thanks mark, that's exactly how I did it yesterday!

Although need to do it again as the cheap pump from Amazon is leaking, the rubber grommet it came with that seals it to the tank isn't very good so will try the one off the original pump.

Still can't get this to stop dripping! It's leaking where the pump seats into the bottle. Any tips? Does it need anything putting on the grommet and pump before fitting into the bottle?

The original Citroen pump was fine, and it's actually just one of the hose connectors which has broken. This dual connector piece actually clips into the Citroen pump so if I could find a replacement connector I could reuse the original pump.

Failing that ill have to try get a complete Citroen pump, anyone know a part number?

Thanks

If its like the M59 models put the grommet on the washer bottle then smear the inside of the grommet and the pump body with a little Vaseline or silicone grease and push the pump in. Be careful not to dislodge the grommet as this is why they usually leak.
Are we there yet????? Huh
