Over the last month or so the mpg seems to have dropped off, normally get around 600 miles to a tank however i drive it i'm now getting less than 500
Done the obvious forced regen but its made no difference , could it be something else ?

Maybe its just the winter diesel they use this time of year, I get about 4mpg less as soon as it starts getting colder. Dark and rainy nights = headlights and wipers on more, longer to warm up so less efficient. It all adds up.

When you say you did a forced regen, what do you mean, do you have diagbox ?

I thought it would regen on a decent run irrespective of gear selection?I would love comments on this.

I was recommended to do this ?
Besides fuel usage is less than 500 has been 600+ for the last 2 years.
Have had no warning lights or anything abnormal happening ?

Ok, so driving in 4th at 75 does not = A forced regen.
I have to be honest and admit I do not know the exact criteria, but it is way more likely to be driving in 4th or 5th gear at 40 or 50 mph, at least 1/4 rank of fuel & engine temp at normal, all windows shut.
Once the car detects these criteria , it will alter the fuelling & ignition timing, which will increase the dpf temp high enough for a regen.
Driving it like you have done, will not work Iam afraid , dpf temp nay get to 150/180 degrees, where as on a regen it will exceed 350 degrees.
A workshop can initiate a “forced regen “ on a laptop, by strictly following very specific instructions, if all criteria is met , then a regen will occur.

You can put your hat on upside down and drive it anyway you want, but it won't do a regen unless the soot content is over a set level.
